Creator

Laura Goodenow

A librettist, lyricist, writer, editor, producer, and distributor, I’m interested in developing stories and works that explore female perspectives and/or portray complex female characters. I named my creative company Real Woman Make Waves as a reminder to myself and to every woman: voices are meant to be heard, not silenced.

And by woman, I mean any human who identifies as a woman.

mission statement

Art elevates life.

Good stories are more than entertaining; they’re compelling. They open our hearts and minds to the shades and shadows of the world, of humanity, of ourselves.

The mission of Real Women Make Waves is to face every subject with thoughtfulness no matter how taboo or controversial. To start or renew conversations. To create art that doesn’t just imitate life…but elevates life…by examining and questioning it.

Movies. Plays. Musicals. Books. Songs. Poetry. Dance… Whatever the creative language, let’s make some waves.
